Results: Practice 2, Massa leads wet practice

Felipe Massa was fastest in the afternoon practice session in Silverstone. The Brazilian beat Rosberg, Kobayashi, Hamilton and Button. The Red Bulls called it a day early and didn't come out in the last 5 minutes of the session. Everybody else beat their best time as the track dried out.
The conditions were similar at the start of the second practice session as they were in the morning. Although there was some sun prior to session the rain began just before the session started. The temperatures were slightly higher but the track was still wet. Only a few drivers went out in the first half hour of the session. One of those drivers was Kamui Kobayashi. The Japanese driver severely damaged his car in the first session but his Sauber team was able to repair the car in time.
After 50 minutes the rain stopped and the first lap time was set. Jaime Alguersuari did the Silverstone lap in 2:04.096. Within a few laps he was able to drop his time to 1:55.583. With 30 minutes to go only half of the drivers set a time and none of the top teams did a full lap. In the remaining minutes everybody came out for their laps. It was Massa who set the fastest lap in the final seconds of the session. The track was significantly quicker in the last laps. Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber decided to stay in for the last five minutes as everybody improved their times.
