HRT has been slowly improving its pace and closing the gap to its nearest competitors. The team hopes to show some improvement on what is its team principal's favourite circuit: "The Canadian Grand Prix is my favourite race of the year, the location and the track are fantastic, especially the last curve which is a real test."
Colin Kolles, who was previously involved with MidlandF1, Spyker and Force India, says that he hopes to show further improvements of their performance in Montreal: "This should be a better weekend for us, it’s an opportunity to prove our reliability and show some improvement in our performance. As in the majority of races this year, I’m sure we will see a lot of overtaking again in Montreal."
"The team has come a long way since the start of the championship but we have to make bigger steps," says Kolles. "In order to achieve this improvement we will be coming to Canada with some new aero parts that suit the circuit characteristics and a new exhaust system."
Last year only one HRT was able to finish. Karun Chandhok finished 18th and Bruno Senna retired with gearbox problems.
