HRT happy to start after missing qualifying
Posted: Sunday May 29th 2011, 09:04 GMT
HRT had a disappointing day yesterday. The team wasn't able to participate in qualifying after a crash of Vitantonio Liuzzi and technical problems of Narain Karthikeyan. Team principal Colin Kolles explained their day: "We had a difficult day with Tonio crashing and Narain’s car having problems with the suspension just before qualifying. We couldn’t run either car in qualifying as a result of this so we had to go to the stewards to see what would happen tomorrow. Thankfully they made a good decision so both our drivers will be on the grid tomorrow."
Vitantonio Liuzzi commented on his day: "It was a difficult day because in the morning I had a crash in corner 1. I have been struggling a lot with the balance of the car since Thursday, the rear end is suffering a lot." The Italian was of course very happy with the approval to drive by the FIA: "The FIA showed some good sense with the decision they made since we've been inside the 107% rule for every race since Australia. It will be a difficult race tomorrow because we're struggling with the balance on the car but in Monaco you never know what will happen."
Last year HRT didn't finish the race. Liuzzi, who drove for Force India, finished as 9th.
