Sergio Perez is the biggest talent Mexico has at the moment. The Sauber driver does not only drive well, he also has the support of the richest man on earth: Carlos Slim. His son, Carlos Slim Domit visited Sauber last weekend. "I watched the race at the Sauber motorhome with friends and other sponsors," said Slim Domit afterwards to Blick. "It was really exciting because both Saubers weren't in the points for a long time. I am very proud, just like the whole country. Sergio Perez had a great race and he deserved these two points."
Carlos Slim Domit, Slim's oldest child, is also very involved in the businesses of his father. About their involvement in F1 and in Sauber he is clear: "I expect to be in F1 for a long long time. We have time and with Perez a great driver with lots of potential. He is only just beginning his career but last year's second place in GP2 was a clear sign."
The Mexican says that the ultimate goal is a world championship: "We have a long-term goal. We want the world title one day. We will support Sauber with the necessary resources, which should enable a lot of developments. We are very happy with this team."
